East Tennessee State University
Located along State of Franklin Road in east Johnson City, TN, East Tennessee State University offers a wide range of degrees at the college and graduate levels. ETSU has a reputation of excellence in academic as well as other areas. Its golf, tennis, track and basketball teams compete on the national level. ETSU is host to an indoor track meet in February.
With 15,000 students, ETSU began as a teachers college in 1911 and now has eleven colleges and schools including both a medical and pharmacy school. These are:

Christian Seminary is a Graduate Christian Seminary committed to the
lordship of Jesus Christ, the authority of Scripture and to the vision
of the unity of world Christianity as arising from the work of such
thinkers as Thomas and Alexander Campbell and Barton W. Stone. Though
students from a variety of denominational backgrounds come to study at

The James H.. Quillen Veterans Administration Center
Since 1903, the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center has been improving the health of the men and women who have so proudly served our nation. The VA considers it their privilege to serve health care needs in any way they can. Services are available to more than 170,000 veterans living in a 41-county area of Tennessee, Virginia, Kentucky, and North Carolina.The Center houses a state of the art hospital, a nursing home and domicilliary and is also home to the ETSU James H. Quillen College of Medicine, a Teague-Cranston school started in the early 70's. which was started pursuant to the Teague-Cranston Act.
